True story about fame that has just come

“I feel like I’m following around another guy who everyone is congratulating,” he said.

He wanted to become a lawyer, but the classes bored him and he left school. Then he joined the Marine Corps Reserve and now he said: “It was a living nightmare that turned out to be the best thing I ever did for myself,”a living nightmare that turned out to be the best thing I ever did for myself.” He struggled with alcoholism. And he worked in a restaurant in Copenhagen and learned to speak Danish. Finally, he got his master’s in poetry at New York University and in 2007 published hist first book of poems.

I find we have some things in common, like creative writting (however he is a teacher and I am a guide) and loving poetry (however I write Sub rosa;). More, both of us like wearing sneakers. But I am writing about him, because I have the same pair of sneakers. Why this morning in my mind is Gregory Pardlo?

His second volume of poetry, was rejected by all of the major publishers when he first sent it out in 2010. When it was finally published in the autumn 2014 by a small literary press. In 2015 Digest, this volume of poetry, won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry.

And what do you think of it? Here my reflections which I am sharing with you:

  • especially a poet doesn’t want to write – he must write,

  • fidelity (to yourself) and perseverance are crucial,

  • fame will come or not… it is neither the proof of happiness nor aim itself.
